4-H Youth Development

4-H is the youth education branch of the Cooperative Extension Service, a program of the United States Department of Agriculture. Each state and each county has access to a County Extension office for both youth and adult programs.

Developing all youth to reach their fullest potential through:

  • life-skill development through project work and school enrichment
  • learning by doing- hands on learning opportunities
  • utilizing the knowledge of the land-grant university system

4-H enables youth to have fun, meet new people, learn new life-skills, build self-confidence, learn responsibility, and set and achieve goals! Youth learn by doing and receive an award for a project.
