4-H EFNEP

Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program

About

The 4-H Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) educates limited resource youth between the ages of 5 to 18 years old on food and nutrition topics.  Trained volunteers teach youth a nutrition project consisting of an 8-10 lesson curriculum. The lessons use the experiential learning model to teach food and nutrition in a variety of settings.  Projects allow for "learn by doing" experiences, offering age and grade appropriate activities that align with the many developmental levels of today's youth.  Upon completion of the project series, youth will receive recognition for their participation.
